Duties and Responsibilities

Perform complex product developments from conception through the production phase.

Conduct mechanical design of automated inspection machines, modules, and components.

Create complete 3D CAD designs for machines and modules.

Translate requirements into clear specifications and develop effective technical solutions.

Design prototypes, support validation testing, evaluate results, and implement required changes.

Create and maintain BOM structures within the PDM system.

Continuously improve existing products to enhance performance and efficiency, including updating BOMs.

Handover finalized developments to the manufacturing team and provide support during implementation.

Apply design-for-manufacturability principles for subtractive and additive manufacturing methods, including sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, and 3D printing.

Manage development activities in line with budget, cost targets, and specifications.

Willingness to travel to customers and internal locations (approximately 5%).

Additional responsibilities if experienced:

Design and simulation of optical systems, including light sources and camera optics.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Required Knowledge

Proficiency in CAD software such as Creo Parametrics or Inventor, and experience with PDM systems.

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in mechanical design or a related field.

Proven experience in mechanical design within an industrial environment.

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design guidelines.

Preferred Additional Experience

Experience in optical system design and simulation for light sources and camera optics.

Multidisciplinary engineering experience.

Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
